Business Day China in Bonn: Silk Road or Information Highway?

Bonn is organising this interesting city-2-city and city-2-industry event on 29 May, also to celebrate their 10 years of partnership with Chengdu.

China’s role in the world is constantly evolving. From the being the factory of the world, China aims at becoming the globe’s leading industrial power before the year 2049. Along the way, discussions about the New Silk Road, Chinese companies in Germany, digitization and innovation potential in China are making headlines today.

On the business day “Silk Road or Data Highway? New Paths to China”, selected experts will present the current business opportunities and risks for German companies in the” analogue “and digital world in business relations with China. A special look at Chengdu, Bonn’s sister city and, from a Chinese perspective, the “Gateway to the West” on the Silk Road, complete the program.

The city partnership between Bonn and Chengdu, provincial capital of Sichuan with approximately 14 million inhabitants, has existed for 10 years. During this period, foreign trade between Germany and China more than doubled.
