Short description of the organisation

Created in 2006 as a non-profit organisation, Cap Digital is today recognized as the biggest cluster for digital transformation & ecological transition and one of the largest innovators’ collective in Europe.

Cap Digital is trusted by over 1000 valued members: 850+ start-ups and innovative SMEs, 70+ major corporations, 70 labs and universities, 12 capital investors and 8 local authorities.

Cap Digital aims at triggering the potential of innovation of the French ecosystem and promoting the Paris Region as one of the world leaders in digital & green economy, from an industrial as well as a strategic point of view. Fostering R&D and innovation, helping companies to expand, networking our members and showcasing them throughout the world, are some of the activities the cluster undertakes to support the creativity and competitiveness of this decisive sector.

Cap Digital organizes Futur.e.s festival, an annual global festival that bring together the dynamic forces of creation, innovation and digital & green economy, eager to exhibit, meet, debate, express and share a vision of the future with the general public.

Cap Digital has also created EdFab, a place of innovation in the fields of training, education and work transformation.

Since 2014, Cap Digital has been certified as ‘Cluster of excellence’ by the European Commission (Gold Label).

In May 2018, it became the first European cluster devoted to sustainable city and ecological transition with the integration of Advancity activities, a French competitiveness cluster dedicated to sustainable city and mobility. Under this absorption, it also took over from Advancity involvement in Urban EU-CHINA project activities.


Manuella Portier – Director of EU Affairs

Manuella Portier is the Director of European affairs at Cap Digital since 2017. This involves being in charge of the Europe service, the cluster’s projects as well as supporting members in their European development and developing new partnerships. She has a Master degree in Social Science and is an expert in European project management. Before joining Cap Digital, she has been working as European Project Manager for 10 years, coordinating and managing H2020, FP7, EIT, Erasmus+ and national projects. She has also been leading or supervising support & technical Work Packages and tasks.

Johanna Castel – Sustainable City Community Manager

Johanna Castel has worked as Project officer at Cap Digital since 4 years. She is responsible for animating the Smart Territories and Sustainable City communities, which represent about 200 Cap Digital members. She previously worked as a business developer in a consultant firm.
