Short description of the organisation

CCUD is a public institution under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). Since its establishment in 1998, it has been participating in writing policy documents and providing policy consultancy on urbanization for the Central Government and relevant departments of the State Council; providing guidance to pilot cities and towns for urban development across China; formulating hundreds of socio-economic development plans, spatial development plans and land use plans for local governments; building financial platforms to serve urbanization, urban development and smart city construction; organizing multiple high-level international forums on urbanization and urban development; and building itself as national top think tank on new urbanization.

Key Staff in URBAN-EU-CHINA

Aijun QIU has long been dedicated to policy research on urbanization, small town development and urban management. She has been providing initial research consultancy on national urbanization policies; consultancy on urban development policies, strategies and projects evaluation for local governments apart from leading the formulation of local urban development plans; and policy consultancy to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other international organizations as an urbanization expert. qiuaijun@ccud.org.cn 

Yue LIU is deputy director of the International Cooperation Division of China Center for Urban Development (CCUD), NDRC. She was the Director of the English department of the Chinese Social Sciences Net (CSSN), CASS. She was also a research fellow in the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP), CASS. In 2007-2009, she was invited by both the University of Central Oklahoma and George Washington University as a visiting scholar, supported by China’s Ministry of Education. She received her two Bachelor degrees in Chinese and English and acquired her Master and PhD in World History at the same University. She is doing her postdoctoral research in International political economy at IWEP. Her primary research interest is in the IPE & International urbanization. liuyue@ccud.org.cn

Jin WANG is deputy director of the International Cooperation Division of China Center for Urban Development (CCUD), NDRC. She got her master’s degree in economics from Renmin University of China. She is now responsible for international cooperation projects of CCUD, including the application, management and research activities. She is also responsible for the organization of high-level international exchanges, flagship forums and key events. Her primary research field is urbanization and urban development policies. Jinjing ZHANG has been working as the project manager of US-China, APEC and EU-China projects at International Cooperation Division of China Center for Urban Development (CCUD), NDRC. She is mainly responsible for the research and management of various international projects, engaged in the planning of many high-level international exchanges and research activities which contribute to the connection between Chinese and foreign governments、institutions and enterprises. She has also been engaged in the organization and coordination of a number of major high-level international forums and related activities. zhangjinjing@ccud.org.cn
